Congrats to the 2015 Turkey Trot Participants!

On a beautiful Thanksgiving Day morning, 1243 runners participated in the 34th Annual Boys & Girls Club Turkey Trot. Ranging in ages from 7 to 88 years, the spirit and enthusiasm of all was palpable as they made their way around the course to finish in front of our wonderful Ridgefield Boys & Girls Club. I once again felt privileged to be a part of such a fabulous organization, both as a lead sponsor of the event and as a Board Member.

The mission of the Boys & Girls Club of America is a simple one: to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. Boys & Girls Clubs across the country provide:
~ A safe place to learn and grow
~ Ongoing relationships with caring, adult professionals
~ Life-enhancing programs and character development experiences
~ Hope and opportunity

With multiple after school programs for children of all ages, including leadership development and vacation camps, the Boys & Girls Club of Ridgefield provides a much-needed service in our community. To find out more about what our award-winning Club offers, visit the website. Or make a donation to help keep the club vibrant! If you need more information, please contact executive director, Mike Flynn or myself.

Thank you to all who participated in the Turkey Trot or simply came out to cheer on their friends and loved ones.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone, and have a great Holiday Season!

Happy Thanksgiving From The 33rd Annual Turkey Trot!

In the spirit of promoting good health and Thanksgiving cheer, every year I proudly sponsor the Boys and Girls Club of Ridgefield’s Turkey Trot 5K, and this year was no exception. Despite the weather, I joined the record crowd of runners and onlookers. It never ceases to amaze me how much community spirit our little town manages to muster and how fortunate we are to have organizations such as the Boys and Girls Club in our community. Every year this wonderful organization provides after school care, and community focused leadership and philanthropic groups to keep our youth engaged in supporting themselves and the community.

The words of the Boys and Girl’s Club Mission Statement sum it up:

To enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.

I’m also reminded of a quote I came across recently:

“The majority of us lead quiet, unheralded lives as we pass through this world. There will most likely be no ticker-tape parades for us, no monuments created in our honor. But that does not lessen our possible impact, for there are scores of people waiting for someone just like us to come along; people who will appreciate our compassion and our unique talents. Someone will live a happier life merely because we took the time to share what we had to give. Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have potential to turn a life around. It is overwhelming to consider the continuous opportunities there are to make our love felt.”
– Leo Buscaglia

So to everyone who came out to support loved ones, the Boys and Girl’s Club and our community, I say thank you and I hope you are having a very Happy Thanksgiving.

How Do You Know You’re A Luxury Real Estate Agent?

For me, a key indicator of my achievement as a luxury realtor was to receive the distinction of being awarded “Christie’s International Real Estate Luxury Specialist for 2014.” I was honored to be the recipient of the Christie’s International Real Estate and Christie’s Education specialist designation when I recently attended the Top Agents Conference in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Along with 140 other Realtors from around the world, I was lucky enough to be invited by Christie’s International Real Estate to participate in the conference focused on luxury real estate marketing. Criteria for the invitation included a requirement that each attendee be among the top 10% of sales for his or her Affiliate brokerage.

The two-day networking and educational event featured seminars led by top industry experts and senior executives of Christie’s and Christie’s International Real Estate. Topics included how to position a listing to attract buyers worldwide; negotiation strategies in the luxury end of the real estate market; how to take advantage of state-of-the-art global marketing techniques; and Christie’s perspectives on the art market and its connection to the luxury real estate sector.

I’m looking forward to implementing the new concepts and strategies garnered from my experience at the conference. My recent 2013 Year In Review Market Report showed that in 2013 Ridgefield experienced almost double the number of sales of luxury homes as compared to 2012, and I expect this segment to also show steady growth as the overall market value increases in 2014. I’m always striving to improve my knowledge and my marketing options for my clients, so this conference really gave me a leg up – networking with like-minded individuals and expanding my horizons in terms of marketing.

I’m so pleased to have had this opportunity. As the spring market gets going, call/text me or sign up for my weekly emails to keep abreast of market trends. I’d also be happy to give you a complimentary What’s My Home Worth evaluation.

Happy Thanksgiving from the Ridgefield Turkey Trot!

Thanksgiving is always a great way to kick off the Holidays. I am thankful this year for all the wonderful individuals I have met and continue to serve in the great community of Ridgefield and surrounding Fairfield County. I couldn’t do what I do without you, and I am truly grateful.

I was pleased to once again sponsor this year’s Turkey Trot 5K in support of the wonderful Ridgefield Boys and Girls Club. The event was well attended, raising money for the Club and bringing the Ridgefield community together. The kids race was especially wonderful to witness – so many budding young athletes! And congratulations to the Karla Murtaugh team’s own Jana Williams, our intrepid runner, who braved the 28 degree temperatures and shaved 7 minutes off her previous best time!

Wishing everyone all the best for a healthy and propserous 2014.
