From The Owner

IDYLLIC – this one word describes the essence of our home.

We are so grateful to have found this wonderful slice of paradise in the beautiful, quintessential, New England town of Ridgefield. Every aspect of this unique property is a nature lover’s dream. The two plus, bucolic, park-like acres surrounded by gorgeous perennials, mature trees, a slate patio, sprawling lawn, our own Zen/meditation garden & a pristine, private lake for canoeing, kayaking, skating or just relaxing creates the perfect setting for this peaceful country retreat. Best of all, once inside the house the garden and lake views can be enjoyed from every room.

The Sunroom, our favorite, with 18 windows and 2 skylights, affords an ever changing spectacular four-season, panoramic scene worthy of a Norman Rockwell painting. It is here that we relax, read, listen to music, dance, and dine “al fresco” while eating indoors.

We cannot say enough about Weir Farm National Historic Park right next door, with over 100 acres offering hiking trails, tours, painting & photography classes, and even, yoga on the lawn with the friendliest Park Rangers ever.

As for living in Ridgefield – we believe there is no better people and pet friendly town with its charming Main Street offering boutique shops, gourmet restaurants, theaters and parks, not to mention a top-rated school system. The Founders Hall Senior Center and Recreation Center offer an array of activities including exercise, classes, games, lectures, and many wonderful social events.

Our home will be sorely missed, not only by us, but by family and friends as well who have enjoyed the respite and serenity of this beautiful, peaceful, private sanctuary.
